Swimmer 1
We emphasize lots of in-water exercises to develop a solid foundation of strokes and skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Aqua Bon safety tips into all Swimmer levels.
Swimmers 1 learn belly and back floatation; belly and back glide; alternate kicking (with assistance), shallow water entry and exit, and swim 5 meters.
DURATION: 45 minutes
REQUIRED: for children who have never taken swimming lessons aged 6 and over OR children who can swim but lack swimming techniques.
Swimmer 2
We stress lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Swimmer levels.
Swimmers learn front and back glide with flutter kick, develop front swim, complete deep-water activities (assisted) and swim 10 metres continuously.
DURATION: 45 minutes
REQUIREMENT: child would have passed SWIMMER 1 – be able to float unassisted on your stomach and back; kick your legs on your stomach and back for 5m unassisted
Swimmer 3
We stress lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Swimmer levels.
Swimmers improve their crawl and back crawl (15 m). They learn the leg movement for the breastroke on the back, along with treading water, the kneeling dive and the forward roll. They accomplish 60m swim training.
DURARION: 45 minutes
REQUIREMENT: child would have passed SWIMMER 2 – be able to swim the crawl and back crawl for a distance of 10m
Swimmer 4
We stress lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Swimmer levels.
Swimmers imporve their crawl (25m) and their back crawl (25m). They learn the leg movement for the breastroke, with underwater swimming and diving. They swim 100m continuously.
DURATION: 45 minutes
REQUIREMENT: child would have passed SWIMMER 3 – be able to swim the crawl and back crawl for a distance of 15m without assistance
Swimmer 5
We stress lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Swimmer levels.
Swimmers improve their crawl (50m) and their back crawl (50m), along with learning the breaststroke, shallow dive, treading water and the eggbeater. They’ll swim 200m continuously.
DURATION: 55 minutes
REQUIREMENT: child would have passed SWIMMER 4 – be able to swim the front crawl and back crawl for a distance of 25m without assistance.
Swimmer 6
We stress lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Swimmer levels.
Swimmers improve their distance at crawl and back crawl (100m), along with treading water and stride entry. They perfect their breaststroke (50m) and scissor kick. They’ll swim 300m continuously.
DURATION: 55 minutes
REQUIREMENT: child would have passed SWIMMER 5 – be able to swim the crawl and back crawl for 50m, the breaststroke for 25m and to stationary eggbeater for 30 seconds.
